highlighting cells and dropdown boxes

Hello I am creating a project management tool where I can manage the amount of work is done from start to finish. There are 4 heading: Task/Objective, Start Date, End Date and Status (Status is a drop down box that has options Not Started, In Progress and Completed with a colour key: Not Started = Red, In Progress = Orange, Completed = Green) Is it possible that if I put dates in the Start and End column I can highlight those particular columns so for example in the Start date I put 23/08/2016, End date 30/08/2016 and in the Status it was Not Started; it would show all cells highlighted from 23/08/2016 – 30/08/2016 as Red? Thank You
